Introduction to CI 3310

    About me: Hello, My name is Erika Palomares, I am a junior at Texas State and am just about to turn 21 on the 25th of January! I love to travel a lot . I plan on going to Europe for a month this summer. I have always found that to be my biggest passion. I currently work at a brewery here in San Marcos, as well as a local boutique which keep me busy! Traveling leads me to my passion of teaching!

    Why teach: I want to become a teacher so that I have the oppurtunity to teach English to people in other countries. I plan on moving to Spain after I graduate and eventually Australia. I know a few people who joined a teachhing program in Spain and they love being able to go from country to country in Europe so easily on their days off. Learning new cultures and immersing myself in that is something I'm incredibly passionate about. I was motivated to teach by my high school yearbook teacher. She is a family friend who I make sure to go visit everytime I go home. Her daughters who are now in high school are like my little sisters and I love being a mentor for them and know I could do the same for my students.

 

    I want to teach English because I know foreign countries specifically are always looking for English teachers. It would serve me an amazing learning oppurtunity all while being able to teach other students and I believe that is amazing. Eventually I do plan on moving back to The States, but if I get the oppurtunity to live in Australia and teach there forever I will haha! 

                 My favorite TikTok teacher is @Sutherlandphys. He's a physics professor who makes hilarious. interesting content. One video that sticks out to me is actually from a student of his that records a  lesson with a ball on a rope that he throws across the room and trusts that it will not come back and hit him.
